The State Bond Commission authorized another $5 million for Time To Own. CHFA reports $13,169,286 available for reservations as of Oct. 19, 2026.
On September 8, 2026, the Connecticut State Bond Commission authorized an additional $5,000,000 for Time To Own (TTO), according to the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA). CHFA's program page says that as of October 19, 2026, $13,169,286 is available for loan reservations.
Time To Own is a forgivable loan of up to $25,000 (minimum $3,000) with a 0% rate and no monthly payment. CHFA forgives 10% of the balance on each anniversary of the closing, so it is fully forgiven after ten years. It can cover up to 20% down payment and up to 5% closing costs.
It is only available with a CHFA first mortgage, through a CHFA-participating lender. CHFA says applicants must be current Connecticut residents who can show residency for the most recent three years. Buyers who are not first-time buyers may apply if they purchase in a targeted area.
Funding is offered for a limited time and the available amount changes; CHFA publishes a weekly program dashboard. Check the official page before you count on it.
